How concrete leveling & mudjacking goes, from excavation to curing
A slab that has sunk is usually sitting on a base that washed out or settled, not a slab that failed. Lifting it puts it back where it was for a fraction of the cost of tear-out and re-pour, with no curing time — a driveway lifted in the morning is driven on that afternoon. The slab has to be sound for this to work; a slab broken into pieces is a replacement.
Polyurethane foam goes in through holes the size of a coin, expands under the slab and lifts it in minutes, and it does not wash out afterwards. Mudjacking pumps a heavier cement slurry through larger holes; it is cheaper per job and perfectly good for some slabs, but the added weight on a soft base can sink again. Which one suits yours depends on what is underneath.
The reason the slab sank is still there after it is lifted. Where that reason is water — a downspout discharging at the slab edge, a joint that has been letting water under it for years — the leveling is finished by dealing with the water, or the slab is on its way back down.

How does concrete leveling work?
Holes are drilled through the sunken slab, material is pumped underneath — polyurethane foam that expands, or a cement slurry — and the slab rises back to level. It takes a few hours, the driveway is usable the same day with foam, and there is no demolition. It works on a slab that is sound and has sunk; a slab in pieces is a replacement.
Foam or mudjacking?
Foam for most jobs: smaller holes, lighter weight on the base underneath, no washout afterwards, and usable in minutes. Mudjacking is cheaper per job and perfectly good on some slabs, but the slurry is heavy and on a soft base it can settle again.
